Though we groove on a notable list of self-evident and unalienable human rights, we really dig the rights to clean air, clean water, and the longevity of our natural environment. We believe diversity is strength, care is a value (not a commodity), and Universal Design are principles of ethics- not principles of design. We believe every person, company, and corporation is responsible for the stewardship of the environment and that one’s work is never complete until “the shop has been cleaned and the tools put away”. We believe we are all in this together and in holding each individual accountable for their choices and actions, not necessarily their circumstances.
Our goal is to create high quality chairs within a studio-team atmosphere where craftsmanship and individual merit are recognized and encouraged through personal growth, collaboration, and teamwork. We are committed to being challenged creatively and always striving to doing our best work with each new opportunity. We are committed to the idea that striving to do superior quality work is a practice of empowerment, and once a person acts with this mind-set it is difficult to get them to consider a lesser option. We look forward to serving the needs of our community with each newly inspired Invitations To Sit.
We are dedicated to creating a design and manufacturing facility as an inspiring and safe place to work, learn, and grow. A full wood shop with metal fabrication tools is only the beginning; CNC routers, milling machines, and hydraulic presses will be added as we grow.
Each crafts-person will have a place to call their own (their first project is making a personal workbench) while sharing and maintaining the studio as a whole.
But first... we are still searching for our new home. This is a difficult and expensive endeavor, but we also believe if one doesn’t imagine their future in detail, they won’t likely recognize it when it knocks on the door.
“See your future, be your future, make...
make your future, Danny.”
